Live Well, Live Wisely, Live Humbly
I find it's so easy for me to talk about my faith in Jesus. It's a totally different thing to WALK it - and prove I believe by living out my faith humbly.
I am thinking now of an old saying, "Many a slip twixt cup and lip".
I can still mess up so easily in word, deed and thought and disappoint myself, others and God.
This is where humility comes in and the reality that, not only do I live in a broken world, I am also a broken earthen vessel that contains the great glory of Christ.
Yes, He will always be working in me but lets allow Him to work through us and walk about on earth in our shoes, shedding His light and love.
Do you want to be counted wise, to build a reputation for wisdom? Here’s what you do: Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It’s the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts.
Mean-spirited ambition isn’t wisdom. Boasting that you are wise isn’t wisdom. Twisting the truth to make yourselves sound wise isn’t wisdom. It’s the furthest thing from wisdom—it’s animal cunning, devilish conniving.
Whenever you’re trying to look better than others or get the better of others, things fall apart and everyone ends up at the others’ throats.
- James 3: 13-16 (The Message)
