The Christ-Light Overcomes The Darkness

christmas, salvation, hope

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. John 1:5 (NLT)

Christmas is a time we get reminded of the light of the Christ-child that came to extinguish the darkness and bring hope to humanity.

His light comes into our personal darkness and exposes our sin, offering hope to everyone through salvation.

This is the salvation that the Jewish people awaited their whole existence for it was written clearly through the prophetic words of Isaiah.

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (CSB)

She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21 (CSB).

This is why Jesus came. To save us!

Let's rejoice in jubilation at this time that God came in human form to be present with humanity, showing His love and compassion and then to suffer and die for our redemption.
