A Recipe For Daily Life And Business

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

The context is laid out in Versus 1 to 9 of Joshua chapter 1. God speaks to Joshua about His next mission to lead the Jewish people into conquering the Promised Land. And to lead them with trust and courage because He is with them. God says to: Ponder the word. Meditate on it daily. Practice it... practice everything.

Why? Why does Joshua as a powerful warrior and leader need this message - and to meditate on God's word daily? Because the Israelite's keep turning away and being unfaithful to God. They are facing tribes and armies who practice idolatry and evil, that will tempt the Israelite's to doubt, to get off track (again), to lose faith (again), to get rebellious (again), to give in and to be seduced by other gods (again).

So God says: I’ll be with you. I won’t give up on you; I won’t leave you. Strength! Courage! You are going to lead this people to inherit the land that I promised to give their ancestors. Give it everything you have, heart and soul. Make sure you carry out The Revelation that Moses commanded you, every bit of it. Don’t get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you’re going. And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take. - Read Jos 1: 1-9 (Msg)

What about you and I today in modern life?

Herein also lies a recipe for all aspects of daily life and business - the dire need for: vision, motivation, goal setting, personal commitment, determination and strategy on how to reach the goals and overall mission in our lives... as we remember that "GOD, your God is with you every step of the way".
