Faith Is Believing That God Exists & He Rewards Us Seeking Him

faith, salvation, trust

By an act of faith, Enoch skipped death completely. “They looked all over and couldn’t find him because God had taken him.” We know on the basis of reliable testimony that before he was taken “he pleased God.” It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.

- Heb 11: 5-6 The Message

Unless we trust God, it is impossible for us to make God happy. Anyone who comes to God must believe that God is there. They must also believe that God helps everyone who wants to know him.

- Heb 11: 6 EasyVersion Bible 2018

Some time ago while reading through Hebrews 11, known as the "faith chapter", I saw something I had never noticed before. A “new” definition of faith that showed a vulnerability in my walk with God.

It's simply that I often don't believe that He will reward me. I give and give, trusting and grateful for His gifts to me and for the awesome opportunity to minister to and serve others.

Yet, I am not believing He will bless me and come to my rescue when I need Him to supply.

To re-explain faith: Faith is when I believe that God exists ("He is") and that He will reward me when I seek him with diligence, whole heartedly and expecting Him to "pitch up" and answer my prayers - working a miracle or two...

Let our faith sour on the wind of the Holy Spirit and confirm the word with signs and wonders... Will you believe with me?
