When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down...
When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down...
The Scriptures below overflow with the message that God loves the Jewish people [and us] in ways we can never fully comprehend.
Why does he care so much? Why does He not give up on us in the face of our continual sinful rebellions against Him?
Is it maybe that we are made in the image of God and that, like the sun, He just has to shine on us?
Is it that He understands our weak, sinful condition and thus keeps calling us back to himself - like the Father heart?
Is it that He made a Covenant (the Old Covenant) with our early fathers of the faith, and that keeps Him bound to us?
And now? There is a New Covenant, sealed in the blood of Jesus Christ that deals with our sin and entrapment, once and for all. To free us all to be the children of God - not only the Jewish people. Jesus showed us the heart of love of our Father by coming, living among us, showing us compassion, suffering and dying for us and confirming all He said, by rising from the dead.
Now we can know that God is with us in any storm, any fire, any flood and any disaster - natural or man-made.
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end— Because I am GOD, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you: all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in! That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you. Isaiah 43:1-4 MSG
