SOUL Food: The Spirit Empowers Us
The Passion Translation (TPT) below explains so perfectly how the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness when we don't even know what to say. He knows our deepest needs and He knows how to connect the dots for us with God's purposes.

As I read this, I felt a nudge in my spirit to trust God more - to trust the Holy Spirit to work behind the scenes, in my favour!

"26) The Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.
27) God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings, yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny.
28) So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose. Romans 8:26-28 TPT

God's Spirit also helps us to do this. Because we are weak, we do not know how we ought to pray. But God's Spirit himself prays for us. He cries to God on our behalf in a way that nobody could say with words. Romans 8:26 EASY

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. Romans 8:26 (NIV)
