The Potter, The Lord And Master Builder
God works such magic in our lives, yet we see only a fraction of it or we don't see much at all, until we look back. Right?
Yet, so often, I find I resist His influence, His wisdom and His design for my life. He nudges me to start the day with a quiet time, but instead I "have" to do something else first... like check my messages or contact an urgent client that grabbed my attention as I awoke - conflicting with the call of the Holy Spirit to be still and "seek first the Kingdom of God".
Strange creatures we are, resisting the Potter's hand, the Lord and Master builder. Yet, He is the One who created and sustains the galaxies. He takes a few atoms and spins them into whole star complexes. Sends light into the furthest reaches of the universe - we know not why.
I think our Maker is maybe, having fun, playing in a Sandpit He created somewhere, just for His pleasure and creativity.
Here's the truth. When I start my day with Him, the rest seems to go smoother. I chat to God, connect with Him far easier and tap into His wisdom. My priorities feel in sync with His purposes, His will for me - and I have a greater sense of peace.
Maybe just for today, can we try together to yield to the hand of the Man from Galilee! The Man who calmed the sea...
"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain." - Psalms 127:1 NIV.
