Strategic Spiritual Warfare - The Shield Of Faith (Part 3)

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalms 28:7 (NIV)

To continue our theme of spiritual warfare, the Word speaks about the shield of faith in Ephesians, which seems different from the reference in Psalms.

In addition to all of these [the other pieces of armour], hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Ephesians 6:16

It is one and the same thing. Our faith in God is the shield that stops all the arrows that come to us from the enemy. Faith banishes fear and doubt and it prevents the lies of the enemy from getting to us.

The Passion Translation puts it in a very personal way, 'Yahweh is my strength and my wraparound shield. When I fully trust in you, help is on the way. I jump for joy and burst forth with ecstatic, passionate praise! I will sing songs of what you mean to me!' Psalms 28:7 TPT

Is it not a good time for us to learn to trust God and put our total faith in His sovereign character? He has never failed you has He?
