Seed Faith

Oral Roberts, evangelist, healer and teacher, who built Oral Robert's University, taught me about the 3 Key Principles of "Seed Faith". Despite his enormous impact on millions of lives, his "theology" was viewed, at times, as controversial and leaned towards a "prosperity Gospel".

The First Principle of Seed Faith found in today's passage is "God is Your Source". God is the source of all needs, not family, bank, or man.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

The Second Principle is "Sowing Seeds of Faith" into the Kingdom of God. Give in faith, and God will multiply it back to meet needs. Giving can include time, love, patience, forgiveness, finances, and prayer. 

Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. Luke 6:38.

The Third Principle is to "Expect a Miracle - Expect a Harvest" - to expect a harvest from God. Believe that what is asked for in prayer will be received. It's important to expect a miracle so it can be recognized and taken when it comes.

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Heb 11:6

Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 2 Corinthians 9:6
