Free Will And God's Will

"We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps." Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)

Even John Lennon acknowledged that "Life happens, while we are making other plans."

God has given us free will and for this reason He will never force His will on us.

However, with free will goes the consequences of our choices. If I choose for good, good consequences will follow.

If I chose for evil, evil consequences will follow - maybe not immediately, but in time these will unfold.

Every choice has its set of consequences.

I well remember the seemly small deviation in my life after divorce. I met a beautiful woman who stole my heart and soon a new path was set as she was not a Christian. I systematically wandered away from God into a very dark place that too 20 years to return out of blindness. The outcome of losing my way was various addictions, a second divorce, financial collapse and a torn heart and mind.

Let's choose wisely and seek the will and purposes of our Father and follow in the steps of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.
